CARPENTERS UNION HALL

Carpenter’s Union Local #713, with over 4,000 members in the greater Bay Area, has been housed at the same location in Hayward since 1953. Local #713 leadership recognized the need to replace their outdated structures with a state of the art union hall and training center to better serve their membership while providing enhanced skills training and job support.

The project will be completed in two phases. Phase I entails the construction of new union offices, hiring hall and event spaces that visually anchors a sweeping corner of Mattox Road in Hayward. Union leadership asked that the design express their trade through the use of wood and wood detailing throughout the project. Phase II will commence once the new building is occupied and consists of partial demolition and renovation of the existing gymnasium and support spaces into a member training center.
